Beatrice von Preussen leads summer fun at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo

Talented illustrator and print maker Beatrice Von Preussen will be working with more lucky children this summer at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo.

Beatrice, artist-in-residence at Battersea, will be running several drop-in art and craft sessions in July and August, including a Butterfly Day, Bugs Day and Animal T-shirt Printing workshop.

Based in her studio in Brighton, Beatrice normally works on design projects for big name brands and celebrity clients as well as running educational and inspirational workshops for children. Continue reading

Rambo and pals come to New Forest Wildlife Park

He’s tough, likes to be boss and has an impressive pair of horns – meet Rambo, one of the new additions to the animals at New Forest Wildlife Park.

Rambo is a mouflon, a type of wild sheep that was probably one of the ancestors of all modern domestic sheep breeds. The dominant male, he has settled in well at New Forest Wildlife Park near Ashurst since being introduced to the park in May and is accompanied by two other males and two females named Martha and Mabel. Community First Comic Relief funding supports older people in Wilts


Community First Wiltshire will be able to bring support and relief to hundreds of isolated older people in Wiltshire thanks to funding from Comic Relief.

Community First is to be awarded just over £53,000 over the next two years to support older people living in Trowbridge and Royal Wootton Bassett. The money will be used to fund the Good Neighbour Service in the two areas, which provides financial and benefits information, debt counselling and other advice to people in their own homes.
